Celebrating Chinese New Year at our Centers

San Francisco is alive with spirit and celebration as we enter the Chinese New Year. Our network of 8 Neighborhood Centers across San Francisco have been holding special events to make sure that those we serve learn about and embrace traditions of the Chinese New Year. From youth to seniors, hundreds of clients at our centers participated in events such as:

Dumpling making at Booker T. Washington

“Booker T. youth had a blast learning about the different foods and traditions celebrated amongst East and Southeast Asian cultures during lunar calendar, finishing their lessons with a delicious handmade dumpling (Jiǎozi in Mandarin) making activity!”

Senior Activities at Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center

A special Chinese New Year luncheon was held at Bernal Height’s Excelsior Senior Center. A special menu was served and a raffle was held.

Craft Activities & Lunch at TEL HI Neighborhood Center

TEL HI offered something for everyone, from performances and music for youth to special crafts for senior participants.

We wish everyone prosperity and joy in 2023, the Year of the Rabbit!
